Safety Net
A full audit of what you are covered for and what you are not. Enough cover for the people who depend on you, without paying for cover you will never claim.
What this actually does for you
The concrete benefits, without the sales language.
Most people are both over-insured and under-insured
Several small savings-linked policies alongside inadequate term and health cover is the most common pattern we see.
Cover bought years ago rarely fits now
A policy sized to a salary and a family from a decade ago is unlikely to match today's liabilities.
Exclusions matter more than sum insured
Room rent caps, sub-limits, waiting periods and co-payments determine what a policy actually pays.
It protects everything else you have built
Without adequate cover, one event is funded by liquidating investments meant for other goals.
Honestly, who should and shouldn’t
Most sites only show you the left column. The right one matters just as much.
This is for you if
- You hold several policies bought at different times
- You are not sure what your existing cover actually pays for
- Your income, family or liabilities have changed since you bought cover
- You rely mainly on employer-provided cover
- You want to know whether you are paying for cover you do not need
This isn’t for you if
- You want us to confirm that your existing arrangement is fine without examining it
- You are unwilling to disclose existing conditions, which makes any review unreliable
- You want the cheapest premium regardless of what it covers
- You expect us to advise on claims already in dispute; that is a matter for the insurer's grievance process and the Ombudsman
When this matters most
The same band appears on every product page, so you can compare three products at a glance.
Starting Out
Establish the basics. Term and health cover, bought while premiums are lowest.
Building
The most important stage. Liabilities and dependants are both at their peak.
Consolidating
Cover often needs adjusting as loans clear and children become independent.
Second Innings
Health cover becomes the priority. Term cover often no longer needed.
5 steps
What actually happens, in order.
List every policy
Individual and employer-provided, life and health and general.
Read the exclusions
Room rent limits, sub-limits, waiting periods, co-payments — the things that determine actual payouts.
Calculate the requirement
Based on dependants, liabilities and the cost of treatment where you live.
Identify gaps and duplication
What is missing, and what you are paying twice for.
Fix in order of severity
The largest gap first, not the easiest sale.
Read this before you commit
The things a sales conversation tends to skip.
Surrendering an old policy can be costly
Sometimes the right answer, often not. We calculate the surrender value against the cost of continuing before recommending anything.
A new policy restarts waiting periods
Replacing health cover means serving pre-existing waiting periods again unless the policy is ported properly.
Non-disclosure voids claims
Everything must be declared, on every policy. This is the single most common reason claims fail.
Employer cover is temporary by nature
It ends with the job, which is frequently the moment it is most needed.
We are remunerated on what we place
We are a distributor. If a review concludes you need nothing further, we will say so, and we will earn nothing from that conversation.
Common questions
Should I surrender an old policy?
Sometimes, but not automatically. Surrender values on older policies are often poor, and we compare the cost of continuing against the alternative before advising.
How much life cover do I need?
Commonly ten to fifteen times annual income plus outstanding loans, less liquid savings. The right figure depends on your dependants and liabilities.
Is employer health cover enough?
Rarely, and it ends with the job. Treat it as an addition to your own policy rather than a replacement.
Can I have policies from multiple insurers?
Yes, for both health and life. Claims across multiple health policies are handled under defined coordination rules.
What if you find I need nothing?
Then we tell you that. It happens, and we would rather say it than sell you something you do not need.
